Car hire at Ibiza Port
If you arrive in Ibiza by ferry, first identify where you disembark. Your car search should match that arrival: check the terminal on your ticket, the actual pick-up location and when you can leave with your luggage.

Ibiza Port: identify your arrival terminal
“Ibiza Port” does not identify a pick-up point on its own. Baleària provides information about facilities in Botafoc and connections between Botafoc and the Estación Marítima Nueva Ibiza (EMNI) for certain routes. Once you have confirmed that location, check whether the supplier delivers the car there, has a nearby office or requires you to travel elsewhere. A requested collection is not yet a confirmed delivery.
Coordinate your ferry and car collection
- Find the terminal and arrival time on your ticket.
- Check the exact rental office address and how to reach it with your luggage.
- Allow time to disembark and report any delay to the supplier.
- Save confirmation of the meeting point and the company’s contact details.

Check space for all your suitcases before choosing a category. For groups, review seats, luggage capacity and the availability of the extras you actually need.
Returning to the ferry
Returning the car and reporting for boarding are separate processes. Plan the inspection, key handover and journey to the terminal with the margin required by your ferry operator.
Do not assume you can take a hire car from Ibiza to Formentera: obtain express permission from the supplier and separately check the destination’s requirements. If you do not need the car for that part of your trip, consider returning it before boarding.

Frequently asked questions
Is the car collected next to the ferry?
It depends on the supplier and offer. Confirm the terminal, address and meeting point in writing; “Ibiza Port” in the search is not enough.
Can I collect at the port and return at the airport?
Search for both locations before comparing. The combination depends on available offices and may involve a surcharge that should appear in the final price.
Can I take the car to Formentera?
Only if the supplier authorises it and the destination’s requirements are met. Check the terms before booking the ferry; do not assume permission is included.
